A detailed and practical guide that is so helpful when you are starting your journey into the world of using green wood for making products

An easy to read book that's really helpful for those of us now involved in the world of coppicing, a peaceful, energising, and rewarding pastime, that is great for us and is a step on the journey to regenerate the much depleted biodiversity of the UK

Full of helpful information, easy and fun to read this book will be my fruit growing companion from now on.

A lovely book perfect for anyone interested in gardening and seed saving. Fascinating history of seed saving. Expert advice. Also great service from Eco-logic

If you have ever thought about saving seeds or are interested in heritage vegetable varieties, this book is a very readable and comprehensive guide to get you started.

It is well set out with clear instructions and simple illustrations. Includes a glossary of terms, index of varieties and lots of fascinating stories - making it equally useful as a reference and a thoroughly enjoyable read!

This covers everything you need to know to start growing your own, written in accessible - and often very funny - way. It is an indispensable guide to any budding veg growers. Mine comes with me to the allotment every time!

Back Gardens Seed Saving is very well presented, easy and pleasant to consult/read. The illustrations are really lovely too. A great addition and I trust a useful easy one to use. Would make a great present too.

A huge tome full of useful information and inspiration. Based originally on the idea of living a sustainable during energy descent as fossil fuels deplete and climate change worsens, it is also a useful guide to living differently in challenging circumstances such as global downturns. It was written for the Australian market, but with topics such as permaculture, making your home more resilient and sustainable and community development (amongst many others) it can easily be applied to any home anywhere. It is a book that gives you clearly-explained tools that you can adapt to your circumstances. I also noted that some of the people and case studies appear in YouTube films (under the Happen Films channel) which actually gives a broader dimension to the book.
Highly recommended.

A comprehensive book with all the information you need if you are considering growing your own willow.
Soil types, position and types of willow all inclusive.

This is the book I've been unknowingly looking for. Having recently taken over a (small) willow allotment in poor to moderate condition, I needed to identify the positive and negative features of the site.
This book gives the tools to approach the management of the - in this case- pollards, and to plan the next steps in ensuring the site remains productive and well cared for.
Identification with photographs of the willow species mentioned would have made this a willow 'bible' but even without this I now have the confidence and the information to progress to planting and preparation of the willow that I need. I am very grateful that such a book as this exists. I only wish I had encountered it a little more readily. It seems you have to be 'in the know' before you'll come across it.
A great book, comprehensive and packed with most of the information you'll need to manage willow growing for basketry. It's reasonably priced. Buy it. You won't regret it!

Books arrived quickly and in perfect condition .

I love it! I was so grateful to be able to get this publication for reasonable shipping costs from the UK...and so quickly. Thank you so much!

A short but information packed book. I have read it already and found I was paying attention to every word. If you needed to know anything about the production, history, uses and varieties of willow, then this is the book. It answers those questions that most of the other books on this craft somehow don't. I thoroughly recommend this book and feel having read it that I have a much better understanding of the subject.

I was once lucky enough to be taught by Tim - his books are like him: friendly, funny and hugely informative without being daunting. I now have my own huge veg garden and newly planted orchard / forest garden in West Wales and this book will support me in my endeavours.

I grow willow and make baskets already, but this booklet gave me new insights into the history of basket willow in the UK and aspects of harvesting.
